The UAE is working on launching 6G for Transmitting Human Senses before 2030, aiming to change how we use the internet. This next-generation network will not only be faster but will also allow people to share human senses like touch, smell, and taste through devices. This means communication could feel more real and connected than ever before. By moving towards 6G, the UAE hopes to lead in advanced technology and improve everyday life for everyone. With this goal, the country is stepping into the future of digital communication.
6G Expected To Launch In 2030:
Dubai: On Wednesday, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) introduced a wide-ranging plan to lead research and studies focused on the growth of the 6G for Transmitting Human Senses. After launching 5G in 2018, the UAE now aims to shift to 6G by 2030, as per the TDRA’s statement. They are also working on upgrading the current 5G system (5.5G). This plan is part of their vision to bring even more advanced mobile technology to the UAE.
According to the TDRA, their 6G for Transmitting Human Senses, starting in 2024, will create a group to lead research, studies, and the development of technical guidelines. Khalifa University will be in charge of this project, working with global organizations such as the ITU, IEEE, and 3GPP. They will also partner with device makers, service providers, and the TDRA.
6G for Transmitting Human Senses
The TDRA has announced plans for strategic partnerships with industry, universities, and government sectors to help conduct 6G trials. The TDRA will supply the required frequencies and regulations for these experiments. By utilizing the ‘ICT Regulatory Sandbox,’ these tests are designed to launch and broadly implement 6G services across the UAE before 2030. This effort will help bring the technology into use sooner, according to the TDRA’s statement.
Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, the Director General of TDRA, stated, “The 6G strategy aligns seamlessly with the UAE’s progressive vision.” It aims for 6G for Transmitting Human Senses to continue the achievements of past mobile network generations, which helped our country stay at the forefront and serve as an example for many others.”
The UAE’s 6G plan matches global sustainability goals by focusing on lowering carbon emissions and saving energy. This project aims to provide smart, secure, and high-quality connections that will help both society and the economy.
Practical Applications of 6G
The plan suggests that 6G will bring fresh features, such as advancements in AI, virtual networks, sensing technology, and full coverage. At the same time, the current strengths of 5G will be upgraded to boost efficiency in using the frequency spectrum, increase connection density, and improve traffic control, according to a statement from the TDRA.
Predicted improvements in 6G for Transmitting Human Senses are expected to enable groundbreaking applications, like the digital sharing of human senses (vision, sound, taste, touch, and smell) across the globe, with very low delay and high precision. “This advanced technology is anticipated to boost the potential of robotics and further improve artificial intelligence,” the statement said.

The TDRA said, It has the potential to transform many areas, like self-driving transport systems and major changes in healthcare. Such as remote surgeries and diagnostics. To make these new technologies possible, extra radio frequencies must be available worldwide.
Mohammed Al Ramsi, Deputy Director General at TDRA, remarked, “This strategy represents a significant transformation in the telecommunications sector.” Supporting 6G networks will open up new and unique uses. Improve user experiences, and enable more creative ways for people and devices to communicate.”
